The rapper MARIA is back with a new single titled Perfect released on Wednesday, April 26th. This is her first release in three years since her EP Deep Float in 2020. Lil’Yukichi produced the song and featured a sample of Aim and Uchi by Linda Yamamoto, a viral song from the 70s.
The lyrics of Perfect focus on the importance of asserting oneself in all situations and maintaining a positive attitude to move forward. The song is an absolute club banger that will get crowds moving. The album artwork was drawn by Peach Momoko, an illustrator known for her work at Marvel Comics and who won the Eisner Award for Best Cover Artist in 2021, considered the Academy Award of the American comic book industry.
In addition, MARIA plans to release a five-song EP, of which Perfect is a part. Fans are eagerly awaiting the rest of this new album.
