Norikiyo’s 10th album, “Criminal Statement” (犯行声明), was released on June 22, 2023, after a three-year absence. It is finally possible to see what Norikiyo was thinking while he was in prison when he created this album. This work, consisting of 17 songs with sketches interspersed between them, is based on true stories and injustices he has endured, and it is produced by BACHLOGIC. It can be said that “Criminal Statement” is a more exciting project than any other work previously released by Norikiyo. Furthermore, the music video for “Prove One’s Case“, the first track on the album, has been released on YouTube.

Criminal Statement” stands out distinctly from his previous albums. This opus is more exciting and daring than ever. It delves into the artist’s thoughts and emotions while incarcerated, providing a glimpse into his inner world during this challenging period. “Criminal Statement” (犯行声明): Norikiyo denounces injustice

The story behind the creation of this album is marked by a series of troubling events. In June 2022, he was arrested by an investigative agency on baseless charges. He underwent an internal investigation for nine months and then was detained for four months without access to interviews. Eventually, the investigative agency admitted to not finding sufficient evidence to support the initial accusations of cannabis trafficking. This ordeal deeply impacted Norikiyo, and he used his art to express his frustration and resilience in the face of this injustice. “Criminal Statement” was born from his determination to transform his interrogations into a creative force, through impactful lyrics and remarkable musical compositions. Norikiyo’s fans have already tasted this album with the release of “Olenara Coco feat. STICKY“, which preceded the official album release. This collaboration succeeded, offering listeners a glimpse into Norikiyo’s artistic direction and commitment to staying true to himself despite obstacles.

With “Criminal Statement” (犯行声明), Norikiyo once again proves his undisputed talent as a hip-hop artist.
