REBOOT embodies a “reset” after two years of silence
With REBOOT, Henny K delivers her first major release in nearly two years—a period marked by deep introspection, both musically and personally. True to its title, the EP delves into themes of reconstruction, expressing her internal questions, doubts, and the strength that emerges from moments of pause. The result is a raw, sincere body of work that transparently reflects the rapper’s current state of mind.
Among the EP’s five tracks, “TOBETARA” stands out as her first-ever love song, written directly from personal experiences accumulated over the past two years. Its lyrics, fragile yet imbued with quiet strength, explore universal feelings of longing, inferiority, and loneliness, while offering the emotional warmth that defines Henny K’s artistry.
A remarkable team of producers
REBOOT is supported by an exceptionally strong lineup of producers, reflecting the diversity and creative vitality of today’s Japanese hip-hop scene. On one hand, Henny K reconnects with long-time collaborator YamieZimmer, known for his appearance on Red Bull 64Bars alongside 鎮座DOPENESS and for the single “Upper”, which already brought together Henny K and 大神. On the other hand, she teams up with 874× (Yanashi), whose hybrid collaborations and distinctive sonic identity add a unique color to the project. Finally, DJ and producer 石川正浩, who placed fourth in the global Red Bull Music 3Style competition, completes the team, bringing technical mastery and dynamic energy to the EP.
