The group/collective GAME CENTER & Future Brothers has just announced the release of their third album, Enter The Future, scheduled for Wednesday, September 25th. To give a preview of this new opus, the first single, titled “Say You Will feat. OHSE, MZA Future, Mitch“, was unveiled today, Wednesday, September 18th.
GAME CENTER & Future Brothers is a collective from Kanazawa, now based in Tokyo. Initially created under GAME CENTER in 2018 in their hometown, the group adopted its current name in 2022 to reflect a broader musical and creative approach. Over the years, the collective has expanded by welcoming new Tokyo-based members, including ANORAK! and Bearwear, who became the Future Brothers. It also features OHSE, from the Tokyo-based hip-hop crew 8mileAliens, who also shares roots in Kanazawa.
A radical change in their sound has accompanied this evolution. Far from their early indie-emo and folk influences, their music has shifted towards contemporary sounds, drawing from soul, R&B, and hip-hop.
Enter The Future: An Ambitious Album by GAME CENTER & Future Brothers
The new album Enter The Future will feature 11 tracks and serves as a tribute to the sounds of new jazz and the contemporary British soul/R&B scene. The album stands out for its use of both Japanese and English lyrics, a fusion that promises to offer an immersive and universal musical experience. The first single, “Say You Will”, perfectly illustrates this musical diversity. It features an innovative blend between verses by OHSE and Mitch, with the main parts performed by MZA Future. This track sets the tone for the album, announcing a unique sonic experience that crosses genres.
To celebrate the album’s release, the collective will organize a self-organized event titled “GAME CENTER & Future Brothers presents ‘DON’T COME TO FB’ “ on Friday, October 4th, at Shibuya UNDER DEER Lounge in Tokyo. This event is a significant moment, marking the group’s new era. A launch tour is also planned for this winter, allowing fans to experience Enter The Future live.
