YUKSTA-ILL, the Japanese rapper from Suzuka City (Mie Prefecture), has just announced the release of his fourth album, MONKEY OF MY BACK, on April 4th, 2023. This news was announced with a video shared on social media on March 20th.
This project comes after the announcement of his label called WAVELENGTH PLANT. YUSTA-ILL was previously active within the prestigious Nagoya label, RCSLUM RECORDINGS. The list of thirteen tracks on the album has been revealed, featuring the participation of several guest rappers such as Campanella, BUPPON, WEEL-DONE, and ALCI, as well as producers like Kojoe, MASS-HOLE, OWLBEATS, and others.
For those who don’t know him, YUKSTA-ILL discovered hip-hop culture through basketball player Allen Iverson in the 2000s. He won the UMB Nagoya qualifications in the second half of the same decade, allowing him to participate in professional MC battles over 20 years later. In 2009, he released a MIX CD in collaboration with ATOSONE, the president of RC SLUM, titled “ADDICTIONARY.” In 2011, P-VINE, WDsounds, and RC SLUM joined forces to release their first album, QUESTIONABLE THOUGHT. Six years later, the second NEO TAOKAI ON THE LINE was published, followed by the third album, “DEFY,” in 2019.
This highly anticipated fourth project by YUKSTA-ILL promises to be innovative and creative. The participation of different rappers and producers should bring musical diversity to the album. We hope that YUKSTA-ILL will surprise his fans with new ideas and exceptional collaborations, and we look forward to discovering what he has in store for us with his new label WAVELENGTH PLANT.
