Independent hip-hop label DOGEAR RECORDS and fashion brand JOURNAL STANDARD have announced a new collaborative collection that is already creating a buzz in the Japanese hip-hop scene. Founded in 2006 by the members of the group MONJU — ISSUGI, Mr. PUG, and Senninsho (仙人掌) — DOGEAR RECORDS has become one of the most influential labels in Tokyo’s underground hip-hop community. Known for their raw aesthetic, authentic vision, and dedication to street culture, the label’s artists have built a strong identity rooted in music, style, and attitude.
This DOGEAR RECORDS × JOURNAL STANDARD collaboration is centered around a powerful concept:
“a collection for those who learn, live, and move through the night.” The streetwear capsule includes five exclusive pieces: a varsity jacket, a hoodie, sweatpants, a bandana, and a rug mat.
Each item features a monochrome design, refined silhouettes, and premium embroidery that reflects both the label’s and the brand’s universes. The visual design is created by DawnDeys, an artist known for producing numerous artworks for DOGEAR RECORDS, especially for ISSUGI and 16FLIP.
This collaboration was designed to let fans feel music through fashion and experience fashion through music—a philosophy that aligns perfectly with DOGEAR RECORDS’ DNA, blending visual art, street identity, and sonic aesthetics. The collection is created for enthusiasts of both worlds, where authenticity and style come together.
Pre-Order and Release Dates
Online pre-orders: starting Thursday, November 20th at 10:00 AM.
Early physical sales: Friday, November 28th, at the DOGEAR RECORDS 19th Anniversary Party held at Club Asia (Shibuya, Tokyo).
In-store release: mid-December at JOURNAL STANDARD stores (Ikebukuro, Omotesandō, Shibuya, Chiba, Fukuoka, Namba) and online.
