ZORN has just released his new single “戦争と少女” (War and Girl) on August 19, 2025. It represents the first official use of a Nujabes instrumental with Japanese lyrics. The track is built on “reflection eternal”, an emblematic composition by Nujabes. This legendary producer, who passed away suddenly in 2010, continues to influence musicians worldwide. His music still touches millions of listeners across the globe today. The project benefits from full collaboration with Hydeout Productions label. Nujabes himself ran this company during his lifetime. ZORN thus becomes the first artist to officially rap in Japanese over a production by the late master. The creation of “戦争と少女” was featured in a special NHK program. The show “戦火の時代に紡ぐ歌 PASS THEMIC” broadcast behind-the-scenes footage of the creation process. This program commemorates 80 years of post-war Japan.
The music video accompanying the single bears the signature of Yamada Kento. This renowned director brings his artistic vision to the project. His visual work perfectly complements the musical universe created by ZORN and Nujabes. The single “戦争と少女” has been available since August 19, 2025. This artist had previously created the cover for Nujabes’ album “Modal Soul”. He specially painted an oil painting to accompany this posthumous collaboration.
