Originally from Osaka, singer NENE has established herself as one of the most promising new faces in the Japanese Neo-Soul and R&B scene. Discovered in 2021 with her intimate and acclaimed first EP, Room25, she confirmed all her potential in 2024 with Drown in My Karma, a more assertive project that earned her growing recognition in Japan.
Gifted with a delicate and powerful voice, NENE captivates audiences with a musical universe that blends muted groove, minimal production, and emotional storytelling. She is now beginning a new international chapter by collaborating with French producer Sonikem, an essential figure bridging European and Asian scenes, who has been active in Japan since 2017. From this artistic encounter comes the EP Velvet Nights, available now on all platforms, a nocturnal, sensual, and modern work that marks a new stage in the singer’s journey.
NENE will perform at Matsuri Paris on June 14, 2025, a highly anticipated first appearance in France that should delight fans of contemporary soul and new international voices.
