Singer-songwriter MALIYA has released her third album “pluto” today, along with the official visualizer for the track “99%.”
Marking 10 years since the release of her debut EP “ADDICTED,” “pluto” represents a major milestone in MALIYA’s career. The album is built around the theme of “transformation”—breaking away from old values and moving into a new phase. Fully directed by MALIYA herself, the project draws inspiration from Pluto, which symbolizes “destruction and rebirth.” While building upon her past works, the album vividly captures her current artistic state, characterized by quiet tension and a strong will to move forward.
The production lineup includes Neetz, ESME MORI, Kota Matsukawa, and TOMOKO IDA, bringing together a diverse range of talents. Rooted in R&B, the sound evolves into a more minimal yet deeply layered sonic landscape. Guest appearances by MUD and Ryohu—longtime collaborators—naturally blend past relationships with the present atmosphere. Alongside the album release, the official visualizer for the lead track “99%” has also been unveiled. While the song conveys a sense of “incompleteness” or “not quite reaching,” it also expresses that “there is still 1% of possibility and hope remaining.” The number “99” embodies this unique duality. The visualizer reflects the album’s overarching themes of stillness and rebirth.
