The documentary on legendary rapper TOKONA-X, “KING OF BULLSH*T -THE SAGA OF TOKONA-X-” is finally complete and ready to be unveiled to the public. An exclusive screening will take place on April 29th (Tuesday, a public holiday) at Midland Square Cinema 2, Screen 8, located in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. TOKONA-X (born Ryuichi Furukawa) created a powerful sensation in the Japanese hip-hop world during just ten years of his career before suddenly passing away in 2004. To honor his memory, DJ RYOW, who continues to pursue his career in the music industry actively, has taken on directorial duties for the first time with this poignant documentary.
Twenty years after his death, the numerous tracks he produced during his lifetime and his transparent personality continue to fascinate audiences. What was the source of this undeniable charm? The 101-minute film weaves an authentic narrative through testimonies from 58 people, including his family, close friends, collaborators from that era, and artists who participated in posthumous remixes of his work. The documentary traces the origins and journey of this true Japanese hip-hop legend. During this exclusive screening, precious items belonging to the artist, including handwritten lyrics, will be displayed in the venue. Attendees will also receive exclusive gifts: a commemorative poster, a souvenir ticket, and stickers, all available only on the event day.
