On October 17, 2025, beatmaker Housai Beats (法斎Beats) will release a new instrumental titled “madogiwa”. The track is designed to accompany a quiet moment—like sitting in a silent room, gazing out the window, and untangling your thoughts. With its gentle rhythm and floating sounds, the piece delicately weaves itself into each listener’s sense of time.
“madogiwa”: a soundscape
The word “madogiwa” means “by the window” in Japanese. It evokes a suspended moment where one takes time to observe the outside world and find serenity. The music reflects this feeling through soothing rhythms and airy melodies. Because it is an instrumental track, each listener is free to project their own images and emotions onto it.
“madogiwa” leaves a lasting impression even after the first listen. It can accompany a moment of relaxation, a reading session, focused work, or a quiet walk. It truly feels like an intimate and universal soundtrack.

Profile: Housai Beats (法斎Beats)
Originally from Nara, Housai Beats discovered hip-hop at the age of 16. The following year, he began his career as a DJ. At 25, he seriously embarked on his path as a beatmaker and producer, quickly gaining attention from numerous artists thanks to his distinctive style. In 2020, he founded his own creative hub, Housai Studio, where he produces his works, collaborates with other musicians, and also works as a sound engineer. The following year, he restarted his solo project, releasing a series of instrumental tracks and collaborations. In 2023, he took on an ambitious challenge: releasing one single every month for an entire year. This project made a strong impression and helped him reach a wider audience.
International Recognition
Housai Beats’ work is not confined to the Japanese scene. In 2023, he participated in the project “Grand Voyage with Africa,” organized by UNESCO and the Nara International Film Festival. On this occasion, he collaborated with Kenyan filmmaker Lydia Matata, composing music for the film A Conversation Between Two Artists. The film was screened at several international festivals, and Housai Beats also composed music for another of Matata’s short films, PEPO KARI. These experiences brought him recognition well beyond Japan. In 2025, he continued his international journey with a collaboration alongside Colombian artist La Cigarra. This illustrates his commitment to building cultural and artistic bridges across the world.
