COMA-CHI, the renowned rapper and singer, announces the release of her new album “OTO” on May 15, 2024. This work promises to be a piece that marries Japanese musical traditions with contemporary rap rhythms.

COMA-CHI: An Innovative Musical Journey, “OTO”

OTO” which means “sound” in Japanese, results from a bold exploration of the fusion between traditional Japanese instruments such as the koto, shakuhachi, and shamisen, and the modern beats of HIPHOP. Led by koto virtuoso ASUKA, this album bridges the past and present, a dialogue between two musical worlds that meet. The album was produced with prominent music figures, such as Uyama Hiroto, SPIN MASTER A-1, and Mecca GodZilla. These talented producers have helped create a universal sound tailored to a global audience while remaining deeply rooted in Japanese identity.

An Expression of Cultural Identity

Beyond her technical mastery of rap, COMA-CHI has enriched this album by learning to perform traditional Japanese songs, thus broadening her artistic palette. “OTO” celebrates “neo-music,” a new vision of the musical world where the past and future coexist harmoniously. With “OTO“, COMA-CHI invites reflection on the importance of cultural identity in our globalized world. With this unique project, she aims to touch hearts and minds across the globe, conveying a message of diversity, innovation, and mutual respect between cultures.
