On January 13, 2024, the streets of Nagoya pulsed with the rhythm of Japanese rap due to an unexpected and electrifying event: a free open-air concert by AK-69 and ¥ellow Bucks. This impromptu event, held at SAKAE HIROBA in Sakae, Nagoya, was not just a concert but also a surprise announcement for the single “NOROSHI” and their upcoming duo live “AK¥B” scheduled for February.
AK-69 and ¥ellow Bucks Warm the Heart of Nagoya
Over 1,500 fans flocked to witness the performance despite last-minute notice and cold. The stage, set up on the roof of a wrapped bus similar to the one used during their Shibuya show in 2021, provided a unique atmosphere under the winter sky. DJ RYOW, positioned in a DJ booth on the bus, warmed up the atmosphere before the stars’ arrival.

The entrance of ¥ellow Bucks onto the stage, to the sound of “WHO ARE U? 2022” played by DJ RYOW, triggered a thunderous ovation. AK-69 joined the stage during “WHO ARE U? 2009“, marking a spectacular encounter between the icons of Nagoya rap, with the famous “Chubu Electric Power MIR AI TOWER” as a backdrop. Their performance of “Bussin‘”, followed by their new song “NOROSHI“, brought the excitement to a climax. Although brief (just over 10 minutes), the performance left a lasting impression. The echoes of their music resonating through the bustling city center marked a significant moment for Nagoya’s rap scene.
After the show, AK-69 and ¥ellow Bucks expressed their gratitude and excitement:
¥ellow Bucks: “It was a guerrilla concert, but we were delighted to see so many people come. It was fun and matched perfectly with the spirit of our music”.
AK-69 added: “It was a moving moment to be together in our hometown. Our feelings, combined with the landscape of Nagoya, heightened our anticipation for our February 24th concert”.

The next big step for this dynamic duo is their special live “AK¥B“, held at Nippon Gaishi Hall in Nagoya on February 24, 2024. The show will start at 6:00 PM. Although some tickets are already sold, tickets are still available through various game guides.
