13ELL is a Japanese rapper born in 1990 in Kamikawa, Kyoto Prefecture. Before becoming known by his current stage name, 13ELL, he was called Rantaro, but his friends nicknamed him 13ELL when he was 14 years old, referencing the parts of the video game Sudden Attack he played.
Beyond music, 13ELL was passionate about motocross and obtained his professional motocross license at 17. Unfortunately, his promising career was abruptly interrupted by a severe accident. At this time, he turned to hip-hop, an interest he developed while listening to Bone Thugs and Dr. Dre during his adolescence.
In 2012, he formed the rap group DCA with other rappers from Kyoto, including WAWA, JAY LOX, 1esse1, Flip, Aznally, and Rubbish. Together, they released three albums between 2018 and 2021, titled “YATSULER 1“, “YATSULER 2“, and “YATSULER 3“. 13ELL also released several projects and mini-albums on SoundCloud before launching his first album, titled “MX BOYS 2“, January 2018. With the release of the EP “CANDYDATE” in May 2019 that 13ELL truly exploded onto the Japanese music scene. The songs “M.N.D” in collaboration with Shurkn Pap and “Magetsutokuroneko” with WILYWNKA listened to more than two million times on Spotify.

In June 2022, 13ELL released his third studio album, “LOADED.” Numerous collaborations with other rappers and R&B artists mark this project. A few months later, he presented the work “Escalator Life,” a three-song project in partnership with rapper Lunv Loyal.
With his varied collaborations, successful projects, and active participation in the DCA collective, 13ELL has established himself as one of the most influential rappers on the Kyoto hip-hop scene. His talent and dedication to music make him an artist to watch closely in the years to come.
