The legacy of legendary Japanese producer Nujabes is well known in the broader hip-hop culture. Nujabes (real name Jun Seba) was once a genius producer to most purists of hip-hop culture. A pioneer of the abstract hip-hop and jazz hip-hop genres, Nujabes is best known for the soundtrack to Samurai Champloo. Highly regarded by his peers, he has left an immense musical legacy and influenced an entire generation of artists beyond Japan. In February 2010, the famous beatmaker died at 36 years old following a car accident.

The events will take place in several Japanese cities over four days: on February 23 in Tokyo (東京CE LA VI TOKYO), on February 24 in Fukuoka (福岡WITH THE STYLE), on February 25 in Osaka (大阪CIRCUS OSAKA), and on February 26 in Kyoto (京都WORLD KYOTO). Fat Jon, who participated in the soundtrack of Samurai Champloo, and Dj Ryow, who supported Nujabes’ label, will perform during these tribute days.
